Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A spokesman for the firm stated: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding claims about conduct deemed unsuitable involving women.

The publisher declined to specify the motivations for this action, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold over six tens of millions of copies globally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books combined, encompassing a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
